Learn More about Brainspotting
Brainspotting (BSP) is a therapeutic approach used to process and heal trauma, emotional distress, and other psychological challenges. It was developed by Dr. David Grand in 2003 and is based on the idea that where a person looks can influence how they feel. The technique involves identifying "brainspots"—specific eye positions that are linked to stored trauma or emotional distress—and using focused attention and mindfulness to process and release these unresolved experiences.

Brainspotting is often compared to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) but is considered more flexible and focused on deep brain processing rather than structured protocols. It is widely used by trauma therapists, mental health professionals, and even performance coaches.
How it Works
-
Finding the Brainspot: Your therapist helps you locate a brainspot by guiding your eye movements while observing physiological responses (e.g., blinking, facial changes, changes in breathing).
-
Processing the Experience: You will maintain focus on the brainspot while allowing thoughts, emotions, and sensations to surface naturally. You can verbally process what is coming up or choose to be silent through the process.
-
Using Bilateral Stimulation: We often incorporate bilateral sound (alternating tones in headphones) to further enhance the brain's processing ability.
